All the light units connected to the same controller output the same light
The two controllers are completely independant
Light units are simply connected together, daisy chained, with industry standard 4 way speaker cable, chosen for its locking connectors,high current capability and reliability.
There is only one connection in and one out per light unit, removing the need to run DMX and mains to each one.
24V dc is used to the light units, removing potentially dangerous mains voltage from the units.
The light units are light weight and compact, offering a range of mounting solutions.Each end has an M6 threaded hole, which not only can be used to mount the legs (supplied) but allows mounting on any other bracket with a 6mm hole.The back of the unit has a bracket designed to take a standard truss bracket, or any thing else that fits the hole.
The fronts are protected with a plain transparent acrylic cover, spares of which are included.
The controllers are 230V ac, standard 2U 19inch rack mounting. On off switch, DMX or IR remote selection switch. Dip switches to change the DMX channel are under the lid. 13A plug
The controllers have medical equipment quality switch mode power supplies, made by XPC. These are very low leakage and are designed for long life.
Electrical protection is provided by fuses, one for each colour on the controller, and one on each light unit.
This system was designed and built for a specific job. The quality of the components, the engineering and build quality were of prime importance for ease of use and reliability. The light units were manufactured from aluminium and built to a tight tolerance. The Controllers are built into recycled amplifier cases. The electronics are modular and easily obtainable should anything need to be replaced. Attention to detail includes the use of Neutrik connectors, professional quality cable with rubber equivalent jackets, even for the mains, and the use of sleeving throughout.
