Serious bass in a (relatively) compact package!

These cabs are loaded with a pair of 15 inch Eminence Kilomax bass drivers that are rated 1250W RMS at 4ohms.

The Peavey cabinets are quite old (over 10 years) and I removed the original Black Widow drivers a few years ago to replace them with the Eminence Kilomax they are currently loaded with. The drivers alone cost 450 new. The cabinets show signs of wear, as shown in the pictures – The carpet is coming away at some of the edges/corners but this can be stapled back down without issue. The carpet does have some dirty marks, but the flash on the camera makes them look much worse than they really are, and the speaker grills would benefit from a new lick of paint. The cabinets themselves are otherwise in a good condition, the only issues being cosmetic. I used these around 3 times per year for private functions.

Note: The speaker pole mountings (top hats) have been removed (shown in pictures) because they were raised up from the cabinet which meant that the speakers could not be stacked, which is how a needed them to be. I no longer have these top hats but if you need them I’m sure you can find something inexpensively (I know Penn Elcom sell heavy duty top hats for about 4.50 which would be ideal). I just improvised a ‘plug’ out of gaffa tape to stop the air escaping and it worked perfectly well so never felt the need to find a more ‘professional’ solution, based on my needs.

The internal crossover has been removed as I couldn’t find anything suitable to handle the amount of power these speaker take so the ‘Hi Output’ socket on the real panel is not connected to anything. However, I do have a Peavey PV 23XO active crossover (shown in above images) which I’m prepared to sell for 50 so you can use this to split the frequency band between the subs and the mid/top cabs you are using. I bought it new for 100 and it has only been used twice.

These subs are passive so you will need an amplifier to power them. The input uses Speakon connectors.

A similar package (18inch Eminence Kilomax in Wharfdale cabinets) sold recently on ebay for 450 so I feel 250 is a very good price for these excellently performing but ‘cosmetically challenged’ subs. COLLECTION ONLY! Cash on collection preferred.

Any questions please ask.
