This is an unused New Old Stock item. It’s been stored in its original manufacturer’s packaging since the date on the sticker on the back which you can see is 2003. I opened it to take some photos, but the original plastic wrapping is unopened.

At around this date, Ex-Or was selling a commercial / high end residential archtectural dimming system called SceneSelect. This is an OEM-sourced item that was part of that portfolio, used whenever phase-cut dimming was required. Not to be confused with, and not compatible with the later SceneSelect2 system which is based on Dynalite equipment. If you’re in the market for this then you probably know how to tell the difference.

Ex-Or would install a SceneSelect control card (about 10 x 6cm) inside some, and others were sold as standard if the SceneSelect control card had been included in another piece of equipment within the same installation project.

This item for sale is the basic standard Anytronics DS410 Dimmer – it does NOT have any control card inside it. You can operate it from any standard 0-10V signal or put a control card inside it.

If you have an early Ex-Or SceneSelect system with phase-cut lighting loads, then you will have at least one of these. You might want to buy this as a spare. If your existing one fails, don’t throw it away, open it up and take out the low voltage control card (easy job) and put it into this. Control cards are not the bits that do the heavy lifting and are not likely to fail – don’t throw them away – they are now completely unobtainable.

The item is also usable as a general-purpose dimmer for use with standard 0-10V control inputs, you don’t need to have an Ex-Or system. It looks like the original manufacturer offers versions with DMX cards in – I guess that’s a build option – I’m fairly sure this doesn’t have one fitted even though you might notice a DMX XLR socket on the back.

It’s heavy – hence the postage cost. You can pick up in person if you like.
