This is an instant DJ startup kit. I am a Technics 1200/1210 guy but these decks surprised me, they are really powerful and have many more features than the Technics 1200/1210 series.
The KAM DDX3000 turntables are direct drive with powerful magnets in the rotor of the motors. This is the same design as the Technics. These are every bit as powerful as the 1200/1210 and do not stop when you are trying to slow down the turntable with the stroke of the finger.The pitch control is + or – 50% !!! that’s incredible and they have 78 RPM as well as the usual 45 & 33. This means you can practically mix any record up to 12 inch with any other record, even old jazz 78s from the mid 1900s.
The have an instant Stop / Start button on both corners on the left side. These are designed with scratching in mind so you would turn 90 degrees clockwise so the 2 start/stop buttons are at the top. Combined with an instant reverse these decks are perfect for scratching – Wicked!
Both decks have Ortofon Concorde head shells and styluses.
The mixer is a solid little 2 channel Numark 1050 featuring Bass, Mid and Treble EQ pots. It also has Bass & Treble EQ pots on the microphone input output. Its a solid little workhorse.
The Speakers are Wharfedale 2090s and are a powerful 200 watts at 8 Ohms.
The Amp is a gorgeous simple black and slim Rotel integrated 200 watt amplifier. It has RCA phono inputs and Banana plug speaker outputs.
