Up for sale are my Mackie HD1801 Active Subwoofers. I am selling them as a pair, and whilst they have few scratches, they sound pretty darn good. They will each come with a pair of load rated eye bolts that I’ve used to rig the subs, and a sub-top pole each, for pole mounting your tops.
Spec wise, the built in ‘HD processing’ amplifiers provide 800w RMS, 1600w peak power to the 18″ woofer front loaded in the box. They weigh just under 50kg each, which I can, but struggle to, lift- I usually carry them between two people, or use a wheel board if working on my own.
The pictures best describe the condition of them, but I’d like to add that the grills on the front are near-as-makes-no-differnce scratch free. The wood has a few scratches as would be expected with normal use- though this isn’t really noticeable in a dark theatre (where I have primarily used them with their HD1521 counterparts). The most noticeable alteration is at the two top M10 rigging points, where I have removed some wood in order to adequately screw the eye bolts into the subs, to rig up in the air (see third picture).
I am selling them due to upgrading/ downsizing to a more powerful sub, as the kind of gigs I am doing require less boom than they used too, though I am keeping the HD1521 tops, as the Mackie HD series are a really good sounding system.
These subs cost near 1000 new each, so under 500 per sub is pretty good going!
Due to size and weight, I’d prefer collection from nr Petworth, West Susses. Though I’d be happy for you to arrange your own courier.
For the size, weight and money, these provide a good solid punch and would be a nice addition to any pro audio rig.
