Time for these to be useful to someone else …… they haven’t seen many gigs since I replaced all the speakers (unfortunately!). These speaker units came from a speaker manufacturer in Scotland, before the days of all the clones, and sound really good. The good thing is that they do not have the cloth surround which ultimately rots (as did the originals). The surrounds are still as pliable though, hence the original sound.
Sure, they cases are not pristine, but they are not beaten up, just have ‘gig character’ and are presentable.
The controller checks out ok, works fine and I have just run the system up with a QSC RM1450 …. yes, loud and solid!
These were used as monitor speakers, so were not as abused as some PA speakers can be!
Top hats may be useful, although as monitors I never used them.
The only one flaw is that one of the grill securing rings has gone missing … not too big a deal to replace.
