SINGLE TECHNICS SL1200 MK2 DECK / TURNTABLE – TONEARM ISSUES AND PLAYS OUT OF ONE SIDE
I am selling my Technics SL1200 MK2 Turntable. The pitch control works fine although it feels a bit tighter at the top and bottom of the slider than the middle when in use, may just need a clean. The tonearm anti skate works perfectly as you would expect, but the height adjust ring seems stuck at zero and also, it appears there has been an attempted repair of one of the tonearm leads and they only play out of one side. The target light bulb pops up, but unfortunately the bulb no longer works in it and the pitch centre light bulb also does not work. Cosmetically, it is in ok condition but it does have some marks and scratches on the deck plate. It also has quite a few scrapes down the very right hand side, possibly due to rubbing against a DJ Mixer, as well as a scratch along the rear of the deck plate. I have noticed underneath the deck that a 2 or 3 screws seem to be missing too. Also, one of the feet is missing the round end and just has the rubber inside attached, but 3 of the feet are in place and intact.
The tonearm looks to have been replaced with an SL1210 black one and the ground wire is missing it’s little fork at the end. There are also no lid hinge mounts at the back due to the deck living in a flight case. Again, these are just cosmetic really. As stated, please note that it only plays out of one side in mono and the tonearm height adjust seems stuck. However, the speed is consistent and the arm is very stable when playing records.
The unit comes as pictured with slipmat only.
