This unit really needs no introduction, since they are one of the globally accepted standards for playing a vinyl disc.
This particular one was bought in 2004 as a backup unit and subsequently seen very little use. It has probably played fewer than 20 records in its life.
it is in very clean condition, and yes we have dusted it off gently with a bit of spit and polish just to make it shine again.
There are no broken bits. Nothing squeaks or groans. Nothing is cracked or snapped. The original Technics slipmat is included.
The cartridge supplied is an Ortofon OM Pro S, worth over 30 in it’s own right. Yes there is a stylus supplied, no its not the one that came with the original machine, we have found one to go with this auction for the sake of completeness.
The strobe LED is the original red (mentioned because there is a fad these days to change everything to blue LEDs…)
The stylus pop-up lamp is the original filament bulb, not some modern LED re-fit.
The original printed user manual in mint condition is supplied, and it even has the sticker on it matching the unit’s serial number. No I didn’t think that was interesting either…
Since this is a very heavy item, transport is necessarily expensive (12.5Kg before packaging), but as detailed in the postage section, I am very happy to accept collections in person, and furthermore, if you happen to live within a reasonable driving distance (30 miles or so?) of Milton Keynes (UK), there remains the possibility that I could deliver it to the buyer myself by car, at petrol cost only. That sort of thing is absolutely possible and up for negotiation if the buyer wants.
