1.2 Kilowatt Pair of Disco/Club/Pub/ Speakers (600 Watt per Speaker)
These cabinets are fitted with 15″ Bass units, Mid Range Horns and Piezo tweeter units. Giving a very nice overall sound field at up to 600 Watts from each Cabinet.
(That equates to a sound field of up to 1.2 Kilowatts from this great pair of speakers)
They were originally Omnitronics Cabinets that were modified to upgrade their performance.
Each Cabinet is in excellent overall condition and is fitted with a very high quality “fused crossover” to ensure good protection for the individual units within each of the Cabs. Blue LED lighting glows stronger within each individual speaker unit as the programme volume is increased, adding a discreet lighting effect of their own.
The middle Piezo horn in each cabinet has been uncoupled to give a smoother top end while still maintaining the same spread of sound.
I found that from an audience position at a venue, the overall sound was too shrill with all three tweeters in circuit and improved dramatically by preventing the use of the middle tweeter in each Cabinet.
It could be rewired back into use very easily if so desired. You would only need to remove the four fixing screws on the front of the cabinet, slide the unit out and re-solder the loose lead to its original position, then. refit the unit.
For small to medium venues these speakers perform superbly on there own, but I found that for medium to large venues, it was better, but not necessary, to include a Subwoofer for that “Club Feel” that greatly enhances the atmosphere in a venue.
Put a good anti-feedback vocal microphone through a mixer and couple to an amplifier similar to that shown in my other listing “Numark Dimension 3” 1.3 Kilowatt stereo amplifier. (650 Watts per channel) and you will have an amazing vocal amp and speaker set-up.
Due to the very heavy weight of these Cabinets I will only allow personal collection. This also allows for them to be tested and proven to work during collection as these speakers are to old to warrant guarantee, especially as I would have no control on the type and output power of any amplifier they might be used with.
