Pioneer CDJ -800
World-firsts
In addition to the Jog Wheel technology that has reinvented the art of DJing, the CDJ-800 includes the following new, easy to use functions. When using Vinyl mode the Quick Return feature enables a track to return instantly again and again to a cue point just by pressing the surface of the Jog Wheel. The Auto Beat Loop feature uses 4 timing buttons to instantly create perfect 1, 2, 4, or 8 beat loops. When a loop has been produced manually with the loop in and loop out buttons, this feature allows instant 1/1, 1/2, 1/4/, 1/8 beat cuts of the initial loop.
The Touch Release dial allows CDs playing in Vinyl mode to be slowed, stopped and relaunched at different speeds when the Jog Wheel is touched or released. Playing out can also be enhanced with the deck’s “Wide” Pitch Control function. DJs can use the +/- 100% pitch control range to create new sound effects from opposite ends of the sound spectrum and also to BPM match completely different tracks. Last but not least, the Digital Out function ensures that all of the CDJ-800’s digital features are carried over to any connected digital environment.

Wrapped in the striking gun-metal finish that Pioneer reserves for high-performance models, the CDJ-800 is sure to attract attention for its brilliant design and impressive list of outstanding features. The stunning-looking CDJ-800 unleashes Pioneer’s cutting edge technology onto the worldwide stage and delivers digital power to aspiring and professional DJs today. These ground-breaking functions are packed inside a compact and durable casing that makes the CDJ-800 ideal for surviving life on the road and for playing-out in tough club environments.
Lasting legends
The CDJ-800 also includes legendary Pioneer functions such as Master Tempo and Cue/Loop Memory. Master Tempo locks the pitch of a track even when its speed is changed, allowing DJs to speed up or slow down the beat, without any difference to the vocals and instruments.
Cue/Loop Memory allows a DJ to set a cue or loop point and then save it to the deck’s internal memory. The CDJ-800 has enough capacity to save one cue point for up to 500 CDs, so that DJs can locate their favorite cue points instantly.
Pioneer CDJ-800 Jog DisplayJog Wheel
In vinyl mode, the touch-sensitive Jog Wheel gives DJs fingertip control of their digital music. Users can stop and cue up tracks, bend and scratch sounds, just as they would with vinyl. In CDJ mode, the Jog Wheel lets DJs speed up or slow down tracks, fine-tune cue points and use all the other exceptional CDJ functions.
The Jog Display shows you a more advanced playing status, mimicing the rotating op a vinyl players platter.
Bullet ArrowQuick Return
When using the CDJ-800 in vinyl mode, DJs can scratch the same sound again and again, without re cueing every time. Simply touch the Jog Wheel and the CDJ-800 finds the cue point instantly.
Bullet Arrow One button touch release
This allows the sensitivity of the Jog Wheel to be adjusted, so that CDs can be slowed down, stopped and relaunched according to the DJ’s own style.
Bullet Arrow Pitch Bend
This is used to either speed up or slow down the tempo of a track, by moving the Jog Wheel (in CDJ mode) either forwards or backwards.
“Wide” Pitch Control
The pitch control function of the CDJ-800 has an incredible range of +/- 100%. This means that DJs can use new sound effects from opposite ends of the sound spectrum and also match the BPM of their played track with virtually any other music.
Master Tempo
This world-famous function locks the pitch of a track, even when its speed is changed. DJs can speed up or slow down the beat, without any difference to the sound of the vocals and instruments.
Reverse
This function is used to playback in reverse, but without having to stop or start the track. There’s no loss of tempo or pitch either.
Pioneer CDJ-800 Top DisplayCue/Loop Memory
Once a DJ has set a cue or loop point, it can be saved to the deck’s internal memory. The CDJ-800 has enough capacity to save one cue point for up to 500 CDs, allowing DJs to use all sorts of different tracks without having to find the cue points manually.
Bullet Arrow AutoCue This is the fastest way for DJs to find the first beat of a track, although it can be turned off for manual cueing.
Bullet Arrow Manual Cue Cue points can be set anywhere on the CD, in either vinyl or CDJ mode, by making adjustments with the Jog Wheel or manual search buttons. The cue point is stored in the deck’s internal memory until it’s overwritten by a new cue point.
Bullet Arrow Real Time Cue Press the In/Real Time cue button to set a cue point instantly, then save it to the internal memory.
Auto Beat Loop
DJs can create a perfect 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 or full bar (1/1) beat loop instantly, just by touching the right button.
Loop in/out Adjust
Fine-tune loops quickly and easily by adjusting Loop Out points. The results can then be saved to the internal memory.
Real time seamless loop
Set a loop quickly and simply, while a track is playing. Once the loop is set, it can be looped continuously until the Reloop/Exit button is used. When released, the track continues without a pause.
Copying Cue/Loop information to another CDJ-800
Although the CDJ800 doesn’t have a MMC it is possible to get this information into another CDJ-800 player. To perform this you’ll need 2 CDJ-800s and just have to follow these guideline step-by-step
Bullet Arrow Make sure that NO CD is inside both CDJ-800s
Bullet Arrow Connect both CDJ-800’s with the FaderStart cable into both the DATA busses.
Bullet Arrow Press LOOP OUT button on the sending player for more than 5 seconds (Source Player)
Bullet Arrow The LOOP OUT button will illuminate and ‘COPY’ message appears in the display.
Bullet Arrow Where BPM info should be, the number of CDs in memory is displayed.
Bullet Arrow Press LOOP IN/REALT.CUE on the receiving CDJ more than 5 sec. (destination Player)
ATTENTION : All data on the receiving player will be replaced by the data from the Source Player.
The LOOP IN/REALT.CUE button will illuminate and ‘COPY’ appears in the display. Your setup is now ready to perform a data transfer between both players. The only thing left to do is to press the PLAY button on the sending player to start the data transfer. After pressing PLAY the play-indicators will start to blink. A message (‘END’) will appear in the display of both players when the transfer is complete.
If ‘ERR’ message appears on one of the players, the data transfer was interrupted. Just reboot both players and start again from the first step with this procedure.
If any of the Loop In button of the receiving player, or the Loop Out of the sending player is flashing very rapidly, there is something wrong with the connection between both players. Fix the cable and start this procedure from the beginning again.
Digital Out
Pioneer has included this function on the CDJ-800 in response to the demands of the professional DJ market. When the deck is being used in digital out mode, all of its features – including its superior sound quality – are carried over to the connected digital environment.
Fader Start/Back Cue Start
When the CDJ-800 is used with any DJM-series mixer you can start the music by sliding the cross fader. By sliding the fader back,it will return the CDJ-800 back to the previously selected cue point.
Relay Play
Connecting two CDJ-800 s with a standard 3.5mm mini-plug cable allows one unit to be put on standby whilst the other plays. Relay Play automatically starts the second player enabling them to play ‘back to back’ to give you endless music play.
Legato Link Conversion
Equipped with Pioneer s wide range technology Legato Link Conversion. The CDJ-800 is capable of reproducing sound frequencies above 20kHz, which are lost during normal CD-format playback. Not only does this give great sound reproduction but sounds closer to the original recording.
Shockproof Memory
Sound jumps or skipping is prevented by using a 16 second shock-proof memory for normal CD play (minimum of 10 seconds if scratching and reading wave data at the same time in Vinyl mode).
Anti-vibration construction
Oil-dampened floating suspension prevents sound skipping, even when the player is subjected to impact during use or vibrations generated from high volume music and low frequency bass.
