There are five individual balanced inputs to switching relays, fed out to five zone outputs, perhaps supplying background music or show-relay, until a contact-closure is applied to any of the five associated control pairs. Each of these causes the relay concerned to change over to a sixth input, bussed to all five relays, perhaps carrying paging or talkback. All-Call control input switches all five relays simultaneously. Two microphones or other devices, such as pre-amplifiers, may be looped-in and out of the unit, to supply them with phantom power at either 10V or 24V, for use where such power is unavailable from the amplifiers in the system. A further relay may be jumpered to mute the first of these, and has a slow release, to avoid unwanted artifacts, and spare contacts.
