For sale is my personal Technics SL1210 Mk2 deck. I have owned it since 2002 and it has been barely used in that time. First the last 8 years it has sat in the lounge by the TV!

I bought it from it’s original owners from Bristol. It has never been used in a club or had beer/cigarette ash spilt in it like so many on the market. I have another deck – an early silver 1200, that I am keeping to play vinyl on.

This example dates from 1996 and retains it’s original Technics wiring, cable clamp and lid. It even has the original ground wire and hook connector – very rare to find one intact!

I recently serviced this deck to get it ready to sell, rebalancing the tonearm, dusting and oiling the bearings. There is no play or wobble in the tonearm gimbles (always check this before you buy one!), the stylus is weighted to 2.5g and measured on a balance. It tracks perfectly at zero on a blank vinyl dubplate.

I worked as a club tech in the 1990s and serviced/repaired hundreds of 1210s over the years. There is a lot of junk out there, particularly and deck that has been used in a club/bar.

Cosmetically it is excellent, there is slight fading of the black paint under the tonearm but there are no scratches or impact damage. The lid has no cracks.

I am more than happy to have you collect from my house in London E1 near Tower Hill tube. Payment must be done in advance by PayPal (sorry no cash).

Shipping is at your own risk – record decks are notoriously difficult to package and ship. Whilst I will make every effort to package it securely (including removing the platter) couriers can be rough and the counterbalance/weighting can easily be upset.
