JBL Control SB5 Passive Subwoofer
This subwoofer is the matching passive subwoofer that goes with the Control 5 model speakers. However, this also goes well with the JBL Control 1 speakers, and any other sort of similar speaker.
This is an extremely rare subwoofer, it hasn’t been produced in the best part of 20 years and getting hold of them is becoming more and more difficult.
I got this as part of a set of speakers I took on to repair. The bass response from this is really quite incredible, it actually uses 4 6.5″ woofer drivers inside it, which creates the sound of a much bigger loudspeaker through a clever triple chamber design.
This has been checked thoroughly and this is immune to foam rot. This subwoofer uses a cloth surround on the speaker drivers so you will never see the common foam rot problem on this unit.
This does have a few light marks/scratches on the top. They are more emphasised in the photos than they look in reality but I’d rather it be this way so you are not disappointed with it upon receiving it.
I regret that this is a collection only item solely due to the weight and size of this, I don’t have any packaging materials big enough. if I did I would be prepared to post. However, if you are interested enough in this to want me to post it, I can reach an arrangement where packaging materials will be built into the price of this, as it is heavy and I don’t want it to get damaged.
