This listing is for a pair of Electro Voice (EV) S-40 compact monitor speakers. The speakers are in perfect working order, all drive units working and unmarked. The speakers are in really good condition too as per the pictures. The speakers sound superb- revealing, tight, crisp and detailed, just what a compact monitor should do. I upgraded from JBL Control 1s to these and the difference was night and day! …I’ve now upgraded again to Jamo Concert 8s hence the sale. Rated at 160 watts, the speakers are advertised (they’re still a current model) as having a fuse that protects from unsafe transients (ie too much power) however these have never been activated as I don’t play loud.
Drive units are a 5.25″ long throw polypropylene woofer and a 1″ soft dome tweeter.
The speakers are around 10″ tall and are finished in textured black with black metal mesh grilles. For more info, visit the EV website or Canford Audio in the UK who stock them (141 + vat).
