BMSLTD. K840 PRACTICE/BEGINNER AMPLIFER (APPROX 7 WATT);
Datingfrom the mid-1970s(?) is this lightweight practice amplifier,produced by by BMS Ltd. Model K840. (Measurements; W29 x H 44 x D 15).Itis a very basic low wattage unit – only having a 5-watt speakerinstalled (at the most I would guess the amp is only rated at approx7-watts).Ithas two inputs, but just the one ‘click’ On/Off/Rotary Volume knob, that controlsboth inputs, (no separate ‘gain’ controls for each input). It has atone control and Headphone output. Beingso lightweight, it could possibly be used for busking – if the mainstransformer was by-passed and a car battery connected(?) I havetaken a pic to show what is inside.AllI have done is tested the two input sockets which work, with the volumeand tone controls.Infair condition for age, a few marks and a missing screw from the backaccess panel.
