The Quested VS3208 is a 3-way active self powered monitor designed for reference performance in a wide variety of installations. When used as a stereo pair the VS3208 may be used as main monitors in smaller* rooms or as mid field reference in larger* rooms. The VS3208 is also ideal for LCR or full surround applications. The compact size allows for ease of placement of 3 or more units, with the width of 19 (485mm) enabling the monitors to be mounted in the space that is frequently available above rack mounted equipment. When used LCR or full surround applications the VS3208 is suitable as the main monitors in medium to large* rooms, either in an all VS3208 arrangement or in conjunction with VS2205s or VS2108 and the VS1115 sub woofer.Applications include broadcast, post production, project studios, mobile recording, audio visual, monitoring and general installation projects.The bass drivers are two proprietary 200mm (8) units housed in individual enclosures as is the 75mm (3) mid range soft dome and 28mm (1 1/8) soft dome tweeter. Magnetic shielding is available as an option and is necessary where the VS3208 is to be used adjacent to a video or data monitorPower is provided by built in amplifiers that provide in excess of 400W rms giving large amounts of headroom. Switches are provided for input sensitivity, allowing
an 18dB range of adjustment in 2dB steps, and 3 switches for LF, mid and HF equalisation, with each switch providing flat, lift and cut positions. Fullthermal protection and front mounted clip indication ensure damage will not occur from accidental or continuous abuse.A remote mount kit is available for the amplifier. This allows the electronics to be removed and mounted away from the speakers enabling the VS3208 to be mounted in soffits

Applications can vary from recording techno & house music to the replay of vocals in post production rooms. Variations of listening level, the number of speakers and the proximity of the monitors to the listening position are all factors.In this brochure we have therefore used broad ranges for indicating room sizes.
Small rooms:- up to 20m2 Medium rooms:- 15 – 30 m2 Large rooms:- above 20m2Unless specified, sizes refer to speakers used as a stereo pair. Where speakers are primarily used as nearfield monitors room sizes are irrelevant and no indication has been given.
