RETRO 1970’s DRUM ‘CAN’ STYLE CLASSIC
MINIMALIST FLOOD or SPOT LIGHT FITTING
Vintage 1970’s – Very on Trend – Very Theatrical – Used 8x days Only

No chips or dings but some of the original grey paint has flaked
HISTORY : Before retiring, I ran an Exhibition and Display Management Company and we were
in charge of the whole projects, from design to build. These lights were specially bought in for just
two four-day menswear shows that had a show-biz theme. When it was over, they were wrapped
and put into store for future use and promptly forgotten about. This store is now being cleared
and a host of items are being re-discovered, all of which I’m listing here.
Originally fitted with Osram 12V 55W Halogen L-R Sealed Beam (code : 0672 60-5723 B109)

The existing track connectors are easy to remove. By using the existing hole in the ‘U’ shaped arm,
the drums (cans) would fix to a ceiling or wall permanently. Alternatively, using the same hole, the
lights could be converted to floor or table lamps by fixing to columns, plinth bases or tripods.
An electrician friend suggested that because the bulbs are hard to find and expensive, alternative
GU10 LED bulb fitting could be used by adding a 140mm diameter downlight converter plate or a
custom blanking plate to take more than one fitting. These would clip into the existing bulb clips (to
maintain the retro feel of the fitment) as there’s plenty of space inside the drum for a transformer.
These drum spots have an extra set of insert clips on the outer rim (see pictures below) and
would accept a larger 150mm diameter bulb, freznel or colour or filter.

The longer track comes with 16’0″ of cable and plug top which is how I tested every fitting.

Returns accepted if an item doesn’t comply with description if returned in condition sent and I refund the item price and not return postage. P&P charges are NOT based on stamp value and include packaging costs and materials. I try to recycle but new materials are sometimes needed to ensure safe delivery. I include a nominal sum for time and expenses like fuel and parking to attend the Post Office. Remember I get only 85% of what you pay INC P&P due to e-Bay and Paypal deducting 15% before I receive it. NO posting on Friday’s because Royal Mail lose or damage items over weekends and should an item be loste or damaged, I’ll assist you in making a claim but will only refund once I’ve received compensation which can take up to six weeks. P&P for items containing China or Glass are costly to ship because Carriers offer no compensation and they need extra protection and double boxing. Feedback is left after you confirm receipt of the item and I close my postal file.
