This is the rarer version of the Technics Rubber Mat, which has RGS0010 stamped on the rear of the mat and RGS0010A is printed on its sleeve.it is 6mm thick and is 470 grams in weight. It is the heaviest ever made by Technics.They designed this mat to improve audio quality/reduce noise coming up through the platter like the Technics ring you often hear mentioned.If youre improving your audio quality using better styli, cart, wiring or whatever this is the Technics OEM one you want, The later model, Mats RGS0008 were designed to accommodate a slip mat on top, mainly for DJ uses. I wouldnt use the RGS1010 on decks that have slip mats on them personally. Id use the RGS0008 if I had to.
This mat has been sitting in its open ended sleeve taped to the cardboard insert from a 1210 mk2 box (for Im unsure how long) since the deck was new Im presuming. There are no scratches, cuts or gauges in it.Whether you simply want to improve sound quality or this is the missing thing to complete your deck box, these dont come up for sale very often in the UKIt will be posted in a proper12 record mailer sleeve.Im starting to clear some of my personal Technics stuff that I dont need or have more than one or two of.
