Technics SL-1200 MK2 Turntable with upgraded Ortofon Concorde Cartridge.
This direct drive Technics SL1200MK2 is in good condition for its age. Ive owned a pair of these from new, which is about 22 years. This item was actually listed about a month ago but was sent back to me due to the lid cracking during postage, so its now strictly a collection ONLY lot.Its worked like a dream since day 1 and you could argue with the upgrades – the cartridge has been replaced with a Ortofon Concord (costs 250 per pair) – that its better than when it left the factory in Japan. Ive also had the phono cables internally grounded so you dont need to ground them to your mixer. You can see that all of the lights are fully working and it comes with an original Technics black slipmat, as per the picture, and the original Technics moulded dustcover/lid. As mentioned and you can see in the photos the lid is now cracked and has a few blemishes. I was going to replace this but as you cant really buy the original lids any more, I thought the new owner would prefer the originality of this one. If not you can easily purchase brand new custom fit generic brand replacement lids for about 40-50, check other ebay listings. Obviously a 22-year old turntable is going to pick up the odd mark and blemish – Ive tried to show these in the photos where possible – but generally this is in good condition. It comes with the original foreign plug so will be supplied with a UK adaptor – see photos. As mentioned this has already been delisted due to the lid fracking during postage so second time around this is a collection only lot (from East Finchley in North London)Feel free to ask any questions.
