Technics SL-1210 M3D Turntable(Fully stripped, serviced & calibrated)
A nice example of a SL-1210 M3D, complete with Dust Cover & Numark Cartridge.
I’ve just treated it to a thorough service.It’s been stripped, cleaned, lubricated where necessary and carefully rebuilt.
The service included:
Full strip down
Cleaned top plinth and casing internally and externally including feet
Cleaned platter
Cleaned PCB boards
Cleaned and re-greased tonearm height adjustment
Cleaned whole tonearm area
Cleaned power, start & RPM switches
Cleaned tonearm cartridge contacts
Cleaned and re-lubricated popup target light
Calibration of pitch zero point and pitch range
Centre spindle lubrication
Calibration of brake
Check over of the tonearm bearings and wiring.
All functions work 100% as they should.
There are no issues with audio, the phono and ground cables are all original and are in great condition. The ground still has the fork attached to the end.
The paintwork is in good overall condition, however there are a few blemishes here and there including a few minor chips and scratches. Mostly all visible in the photos.
The tonearm is in perfect condition. The bearings have no play and no unwanted movement.
The included cartridge is a Numark Groove tool which sounds crisp and clear, however it is budget cart and the deck would benefit from a more quality option long term.
I’ve given the dust cover a machine polish with some abrasive cutting compound to remove the finer scratches and hazing, and it now has a lovely shine, however there are quite a few deep scratches (hard to capture in photos) and also a piece has snapped off near the hinge mount on the back. You could still mount a hinge onto it though if required (I gave it a quick test using one from another turntable).
Technics slipmat included as pictured.No original box or packaging included I’m afraid.
