Denon DNS 3500 CD turntable. Having bought a fair amount of DJ equipment on ebay over the years I’ve grown tired of sellers saying it ‘works fine’: translation ‘lots of little problems we hope you wont notice’ So I am trying to give the most detailed & honest appraisal I can.

The unit appears to have all functions working I can’t find any buttons or dials that aren’t working as they should.

On occasion this unit has started coming up with errors when reading disks. It seems to be quite a random problem – sometimes you can mix for an hour and everything works perfectly, sometimes it throws up an error on a disk. Sometimes you put a disk in & you can hear a mechanical rotating noise from the drive (even though the CD is playing) – but then if you take the disk out and re-insert the same it goes away.

Short version: for a bedroom setup this unit should be perfect but ideally the disk drive may need looking at eventually.

As you can see from the picture I don’t have the original plastic platter that rotates on the top. These are sometimes up for auction as spare parts, but i’ve honestly never missed it, the unit runs as a great CDJ without its scratch function anyway.

There are a few marks & places where labels were affixed but at-a-glance the unit looks in good condition, that is: what marks there are on it are small and there’s no damage.

In summary the drive playback issues it sometimes throws up are an annoyance – hence the low starting bid, but as an affordable unit to get you started this will be fine.

Please note by the way the 2 pin plug, you just need a simple travel adaptor to sort it for UK plugs.

Any other questions don’t hesitate to ask, have tried to be as thorough as I can.
