The Portamus is a great version of the extremely popular V3 Hippotizer that Green Hippo sold as a package of a customized Dell laptop with a dedicated graphics card and video outputs. Control can be independently from the laptop or the laptop can accept DMX, ArtNet, CITP, MIDI, OSC etc. so you can control the media server from your lighting desk.
Use it as a stand-alone player, with VideoMapper or make it work hard as part of an UberPan rig to provide the flexibility, ease of use and array of configuration options youve come to expect from any member of the Hippotizer family.
The Portamus is capable of running 4 Layers of Video plus effects over multiple video outputs. You can also input a live video source such as a live video camera feed or a computer running a powerpoint presentation. The possibilities are endless!
