About the Polivoks VCF :
The first widely available modular release of the Polivoks filter circuit is an officially clone built on the basis of original russian spare parts.The -12dB filter has parrallel lowpass and bandpass outputs sounding somewhat nasty. Unlike the original here you have CV inputs which will ad to the filter’s possibilities.
The filter circuit is identical to the original design and uses the exact same schematic as the Polivoks synthesizer as well as new old stock Soviet integrated circuits (KR140UD1208 and KR140UD608, not Western “equivalents”).The filter’s sound is very characteristic, aggressive, screamy and the self oscillation is absolutely not stable. Fans of the Wasp or MS-20 should like it.
Two audio inputs with level control spare you a mixer pre-filter.Cutoff frequency is controlled with a big potentiometer and two CV inputs, the first of which has a polarizer as attenautor. The resonance is controllable manually only and goes to self-oscillation.
