This Millbank AP3200 is the ultimate high end, high-fidelity power amplifier in the world of night clubs, discoteques and other large venues, previously under the name of Hill Audio AP3200. back in the day, well over 3k. It’s competitors, the likes of Amcron, Crest Audio, do not even come close to the high fidelity output that is so distinguishable with the Millbank AP 3200.
I have reluctantly reduced it’s price from 695.00. But this worth more than twice that price. New it costs over
3 k.
I bought it from new and it has been lightly used, at odd weekends when I was running mobile discos in Surrey back then. I still have the original box and packaging.
It is not that It was used every weekend, just odd week-end parties, birthdays, weddings and It was NOT like left running for long hours like at night clubs. In other words, it had little use.
This high-end amp produces a nice clear stompy solid bass and a clear crispy high frequency treble on the frequency range.
It was a pleasure just listening to the pure clarity of the sounds it produced and gave the roadshow that extra edge over others. As described it is a high fidelity product designed to produce the finest of sounds. For a while, I used it with a pair of 4560 JBL monitors, Eminence Mids, with RCF sectorial high frequency horns tweeters through a passive three way crossover. Wow!!! It was just a pleasure to sit and enjoy the music. Just pure delight!
I thoroughly enjoyed playing and listening to my music and making others enjoy the high fidelity sound it produced.
It has two vertical elongated VU bargraph meters on the front fascia, with individual channel volume controls.
It features led indicators for clipping.
It also features built-in attenuators to prevent clipping, high temperatures indicators, speaker protections, and mosfet protect, selector for mono, or stereo mode, etc.
Shortly before I packed it away, I had it serviced at Millbank Electronics, the manufacturers themselves as it was a short drive to Millbank Electronincs in Uckfield, East Sussex, at the time I took my Millbank audio Disco 3 mixer for a service. It was soaked overnight at high power and came out with flying colours. No fault found. Attached is a photo of the receipt obtained from Millbank as evidence of service.
It was tested and given a clean bill of health. It did not cost me anything other than 50 for the 24- hour overnight soaking as they call it in the industry. I still have the receipt lying somewhere.
After that, I gradually got involved in other media business and the amp was left on the shelf gathering dust now.
It has been in storage in its original box ever since and has been kept there for a good length of time.
I think part of me found it hard to let go. But I think it is time to part company to create some space in the house.
It is still in its original box.
I am going to let it go at a fraction of what I paid for it, given that over time, things deprecia in value.
If you are looking at it you would know a little bit about it. This is not for the faint hearted.
I suggest whoever acquires this drives it at midpoint on the volume dial as it has plenty of extra power, so as not to overdload your speakers.
The power output is around 800 watts per channel under 2 ohm load, 450 watts per channel under 4 ohm load and 300 watts per channel under 8 ohms.
It comes with a heavy duty power cable. I have the kettle lead to connect to the power mains as shown in the picture.
It is very quiet, but allow room for ventilation.
I have no speakers to test the amp and therefore selling it as seen, with no return. It is very rare to find an amplifier of that quality, in such good condition. It looks almost new as I said earlier on that it had only been used sparingly.
It was tested by Millbank Electronics, the manufacturer itself. But that was a long time ago and it has not been used since.
Millbank always use quality components for durability, longetivity and reliability.
The amp is heavy to ship and I advise collection. It weighs around 40 kg.
Cash on collection is recommended.
