I bought these speakers nearly 20 years ago from the school I was working at the time, thinking they might come in useful one day. But having subsequently joined bands with plenty of kit, they’ve been sitting around in my loft ever since and it’s time for them to go to someone who may use them! I tried them out today (Sunday) by quietly putting a bass guitar through them via a Behringer PA amp and they both seem to be working fine, though one seems to have a bit of crackle on very low-end notes – could be the dented one (see pic), could be dust, I’m not sure.

Sadly, though they used to have some brand ‘decal’ on the grilles (as you can see from one of the pics), there are no plates with technical specs anywhere on the cabs, so, without dismantling them completely, I am unable to determine their output capacity or their ohm rating. Suffice to say, they always performed more than adequately during whole-school assemblies, filling a large school sports hall, fed by a very basic and rather poor 100watt PA amp (which I think was a Carlsboro – used to have it, but sold that seperately years ago). As you can see, they’ve seen some wear and tear but, actually, apart from the dent – and some dust (which I’ll remove!), they’re not in bad condition.

So, not sure they’re really suitable for a gigging band/musician but, that said, they’re definitely better than nothing. They seem to me more the sort of thing you may want for functions in a village/church hall, etc, or a small dance class etc. You decide. They need to go to a good home, so I’m starting at the rock bottom price.

Thanks for looking.
