Peavey XR684F powered mixer /amplifier This is a chance to buy a solidly made, very versatile powered mixer which has not had a hard life. Ive owned it from new, and it has been used for an average of about 10 gigs a year with my ceilidh band. It has been used in village halls, wedding venues, school halls, pubs, marquees and other similar places. It has been carefully stored in an integral garage at home when not in use.It has the dings of use, but these are minor. There are two EQ slider knobs missing – see photo. However those EQ bands can still be adjusted using an electrical screwdriver or similar. We have normally used it with 5 x vocals, plus guitar, electric fiddle and mandolin. As our stock of instruments (ie boys toys) has grown (eg banjos, concertina, mandola, bouzouki, accordion, stomp box) we have connected some of them via external mixing desks and plugged them into the stereo inputs on the Peavey. We play interval music from a CD player or ipod via the RCA inputs on Channel 9. A smart phone also works for this purpose. We generally use 2 x 8 ohm 350 watt speaker cabinets in left/right stereo mode. In addition we connect a powered external wedge monitor via the monitor jack, and run a second passive monitor off that. It is also possible to run the mixer in stereo/monitor mode.  The mixer can also be used as a power amplifier, plugging all mics and instruments into a larger mixing desk. The sale is because of an upgrade. (Im spending a generous gift). Details        8 low-noise, low-Z mic preamps       6 mono and 2 stereo line inputs       1 RCA phono stereo line input / output (channel 9)       3-band equalization: channels 1-8       2-band equalization: channel 9       monitor sends: all channels       effects send: channels 1-8       insert jacks: channels 1 and 2 (for externaleffects, etc)       25dB pad: channels 1-6       one button low cut filter: channels 1-6       built-in Feedback Ferret with blue activityindicator (LED)       dedicated 9-band stereo EQ for stereo mains       switchable mono EQ assignable to monitor or channel3 with LED indicators (allows fine tuning of, say, vocals on channel 3)       48-bit DSP-based stereo effects with 12 presets and4 user locations (allows 4 custom presets to be saved)       individual adjustment of delay and the tone of eacheffect possible       dual 4-segment VU meters for power amp levelsensing       48 volt phantom power       stereo or main/monitor mode switch (needs a toothpick or match (!) to switch to prevent accidental knocking of the switch)       6.3 mm / inch jacks allow connection of up to 4 x 8 ohm speakers       2 x 210 watt @ 4 ohms internal power amplifier       2 x 150 watt @ 8 ohms internal power amplifier (seephoto)       DDT speaker protection with activity LED Measurements (all approximate):        Width:        48.3cm / 19 inches        Height:        20.75cm / 10.75 inches       Depth:        28cm / 11 inches       Weight:       16.33kg / 36 lbs The manual can be seen at: manualslib + So, this is a reliable and well-made powered mixer /amplifier which has not had a hard life. It would make an ideal starter PA mixer, well up to modern standards. Alternatively it would suit any band playing in medium or small venues, or be a reasonably compact spare amp. Note: It is not suitable for stadium use!  I am happy to demonstrate the Peavey in action. Because of the Peaveys bulk, postage is expensive, and packing difficult, so collection only. If this is a problem, please message me to discuss possible solutions. I can deliver within 100 miles of Malvern at a price to be agreed. Thanks for looking!
