Serious DJs need need serious control of their lights to create varied exciting scenes that keep the audience enthalled. I’ve tried all the control formats going including using fixtures built-in shows (boring after few tracks), IR controls (too limited), PC/mobile device controllers (very expensive, bulky and flaky)…and nothing beats a straightforward dedicated hardware DMX controller…like this one.

This is a fantastic DMX controller with capacity to control up to 12 DMX fixtures; each fixture button can have up to 16 channels assigned to each fixture, whilst the 30 programmable bank buttons hold 8 scenes each. Scenes can be programmed into 6 chase sequences each holding up to 240 scenes which can be triggered by sound, manually by tap or automatically by the time faders (between 0.1 seconds and 10 minutes).

Once you’ve got your lights rigged and the scenes set…the unit never fails and is dead easy to work in live environments. I use a Donner wireless controller in the DMX out connected to Donner receivers. Works a treat…without the cables.

It’s got a really useful gooseneck light that I found so useful especially in dark venues. The LED really is subtle and doesn’t distract you or your audience. It’s just plugged in to a rear USB power slot.

The joy stick is so useful in fine tuning the pan and tilt movements of your moving heads or scanners so you can adapt to different dance floors.

I always use the LINE IN RCA and plug a cable from the QTX into my controller to really sync the sound (I’ll include the RCA cable).

Unfortunately due to injury I’m scaling back my DJ work so a lot of gear has to go, including this controller and some ADJ scanners (see my other items). This unit has had very light use and only approx 30 hours run-time. So loads of life left in it.

The unit casing is excellent condition as I keep it in the original packing. I’ve converted the orginal packing box into a ‘poor man’ travel case using vinyl backing and Duck Tape. At gigs it looks much more professional and a fraction of the cost/weight of wood/steel cases.

This controller sells for over 100 on most internet shopping sites. Grab yourself a bargain!
