The SL-1200GLD is a special limited edition 24 karat gold plated version of the SL-1200 MK5, produced to commemorate over 3 million SL-1200s sold, in an extremely limited run of only 3,000 SL1200GLDs worldwide. Of the 3,000 units produced, 1,500 were released in the USA and 1,500 for the rest of the world.
Manufacturer Info: Technics celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the SL-1200 with the Limited Edition SL1200GLD turntable. Gilded with 24 karat gold it has all the specs of the standard setting SL1210M5G. To commemorate over 3 million SL-1200s sold, Technics is producing an extremely limited run of only 3,000 SL1200GLDs worldwide. The unit has a plaque mounted on the deck which reads “Limited Edition, Product Certificate No. 0600 and 0843”. This way, you’ll know exactly which one you own.
